About this Course

Join us in our revival of an abridged version of the Newmarket’s historic Main Street Walking Tours. These stories will focus on the cultural ebbs and flows of Newmarket’s history for our Culture Days Celebration. Discover untold stories of the past through architectural testaments located all around the town’s core. The tour will be led by local well-known historian “The History Hound” Richard McLeod as he brings guests on a short 30-minute walk to some well-known sites and dives into the main events to the town’s rich past. Guests will begin the tour at the Elman W. Campbell Museum and have a rare chance to gain access to other historic buildings along the way, accompanied by stories. Join us in learning more about the stories that made Newmarket and experience a unique chance to explore history through movement.
